After letting the system run for a few days, it was time for the last step in setting up our new 92 gallon reef tank, adding the starter rocks and fishes. Here's what we did:

  • Placed the rocks into the aquarium and arranged them in a fun swim through arch style formation. To keep the cost down, we opted to use 30 pounds of Fiji live rock in combination with 21 pounds of dry base reef rock.

  • Introduced our first two reef safe fishes, a medium Yellow Tang and female Japanese Swallowtail Angelfish, as well as added a handful of tiny Blue-Legged Hermit Crabs, a couple small Scarlet Hermits, and one single brown mushroom coral polyp.

  • To greatly speed the cycling process, we seeded the system with two 60 gallon dose bottles of HDL RightNow! Bacteria.
