How We Finally Got Rid of the Nuisance Algae

Green and red slime algae can become a big problem for any saltwater aquarist, as this photo shows. Despite performing a simple substrate and rock cleaning procedure on 12/27, and taking the aquarium maintenance steps we took earlier (see Photo 5), the algae just bounced right back by the next day. In fact, it actually appeared to be worse, and continued to persist.

After battling the algae for weeks with no real improvement, we finally decided to try out Boyd Enterprises' Chemiclean Red Slime Remover. Upon treating the aquarium, not only was the red slime completely gone in two days, but the troublesome green algae covering the sand disappeared too. This product had no ill effects to anything in our reef tank, and we were truly amazed at how well it worked!
