Other Common Names: Sand Snail.
Identification: This snail has an oval spiral shell with a long tube-like siphon that protrudes from the end of the shell.
Distribution: All seas.
Maximum Size: To 1".
Reef Tank Safe: Yes.
Diet & Feeding: This snail is a detritus eaters, and are perfect for the reef aquarium, quickly consuming detritus, uneaten food, decaying organics, and fish waste.
Characteristics & Compatibility: This snail likes to bury itself in the sand, stirring deep sand beds. It will not attack live animals. Hermit crabs will eat this snail and adopt its empty shell for a home.
