Colored with alternating bands of light yellowish gray or gray and black or dark gray.

Distribution:

Caribbean.

Maximum Size:

To 6.5' in the wild.

Reef Tank Safe:

Yes, with caution.

Diet & Feeding:

This Sea Cucumber eats detritus and bacteria which it skims from the substrate in an aquarium.

Characteristics & Compatibility:

When small, it wanders about the tank in search of food. As it grows, it will find a place to hide and extend only its head to feed. This animal may release a toxin (holothurin) if bothered by hermit crabs.
