This sausage shaped Cucumber is usually colored in shades of black, grey or dark brown, with a black dorsal surface and a pink, rose or tan ventral surface.

Distribution:

Indo-Pacific.

Maximum Size:

To 16".

Diet & Feeding:

Feeds on detritus, uneaten food and other debris on the substrate.

Characteristics & Compatibility:

This Cucumber wanders about the substrate on its tube feet, feeding as it goes. This animal may release a toxin (holothurin) if bothered by hermit crabs.
