DIY Acrylic Refugium Finishing Edges

Stan Hauter
Use a flat, smooth work surface, such as a piece of glass or a table top for this fast, simple method for removing cutting marks on the acrylic edges. Place a sheet of 320 grit Wet/Dry sand paper on the work surface. Pour a small amount (1/8 cup) of water on the sand paper. Place a piece of 2 X 4 on the sand paper. Hold the acrylic piece against the side of the 2 X 4 (this will keep the acrylic edge flat and square) and move it back and forth until the desired affect is achieved. Apply even, downward pressure on the entire piece while sanding.
