Guide Review - Coralife Super Luft Air Pump Product Review

If you are tired of replacing rubber diaphragms in your air pumps, this is the air pump for you. Piston driven, this high output, long life air pump has the power to drive multiple aquarium setups or high-pressure/high-flow devices (protein skimmers, decorations, air stones, Under Gravel Filters) even in deep water applications.

The Coralife Super Luft Air Pump has a heavy duty aluminum housing with vibration dampening rubber feet. The air produced by the magnetic piston exits the pump through a 3/8" outlet to which you can attach either the adjustable 4 outlet individually adjustable metal valves or the 4 (SL-38) or 6 (SL-65) outlet plastic diffuser.

Coralife Super Luft Air Pump, Member saltaquarium

This is the best air pump we have ever used. This pump is piston driven, not diaphragm (which are basically designed to fail at some point). We have installed a number of these pumps for our aquarium maintenance clients, who have all been very pleased with their performance. These pumps are quiet and have plenty of power to drive a number of devices. Each pump comes with an attachable metal gang valve, which makes adjusting air flow to device very easy. I would recommend buying the SL-65 model over the SL-38 model. It costs a bit more, but you get about 50% more air, which is always nice to have. These pumps cost more than the diaphragm pumps, but they are well worth the extra money. We have been using these pumps for years and have never had one fail.
