Hairy Sap-Sucking Sea Slug (Elysia sp.cf. tomentosa)

Keoki and Yukos' close up photo of the Hairy Sap-Sucking Sea Slug (Elysia sp.cf. tomentosa). This Sea Slug is rare but found in shallow water with green algae (Caulerpa taxifolia), which it stores algal cells within body for photosynthesis. This Sea Slug has a leathery body with fuzzy papillae. New record from Hawaii.
