Base Rock Selection
GARF gives an outline on what types of base rock should be selected when propagating what they call combination rocks, a piece of reef safe rock that has two or more invertebrates growing on it, but this base rock selection list can be applied to any type of DIY live rock project you may have in mind.

This is actually petrified coral that is ideal to use as base rock on which to attach invertebrates such as anemones, soft and hard corals, etc.
