For all those that love the sea and the life in it, here are some of our favorite artists. Although original fine art works by some of these artists can be very expensive to buy, anyone can afford to surround themselves with beautiful tropical fish, dolphins, whales, turtles, seahorses and other animals that dwell above and below the sea by purchasing prints and posters. Not just limited to these formats, you can buy all kinds of products these artists have produced using their art.
Christian Riese Lassen is without a doubt one of the world's most reknowned underwater marine artists of all times. His original, numbered, and limited edition paintings can be quite costly, but anyone can afford to have Lassen's wonderful marine animals, two worlds: above and below seascapes, and other tropical island theme paintings hanging on a wall when printed on paper as a fine art print or poster.
Famous for his colossal "Whaling Wall" murals painted around the world, Wyland is at the top of our sea life artist list. His style for realism of life in the sea, particularly with dolphins and whales, is soothing and beautiful. Wyland's original works are not only reprinted as posters, cards, standard and mini-sized fine art prints, but are reproduced into many other products as well. If you like to paint and draw, he even has a line of "how to" books for kids and adults.
Probably most famous for his stunning lighthouse seascapes, Steven Sundram's above and below the sea works of art, such as "Dreaming", a beautiful painting of a mermaid sleeping with dolphins, is quite exquisite. Much of Steven's art like his "Tropic Dolphins" and "Island Joys" paintings are easy to find printed as jigsaw puzzles.
Paul Brent paints a broad range of many subjects, such as desert and shoreline landscape and still life scenes, beautiful parrots, butterflies, and other animals, which are all quite popular, but his large collection of sea life art works truly come alive to brighten up any room. Aside from art print reproductions, Brent's sea life art can be found printed on pillows, area rugs, and other home decor' items.
Although this artist's still life images, birds, jungle wildlife and other subjects painted in watercolors bring them to life, of course the under the sea fish scenes are the ones we like best. Heads or Tails, Fins 'n Scales, various versions of Tropical Fish and Splashin' are just some of the fun titles of Done's fishie works of art.
