1" X 3" Oak trim was used to finish the cabinet around the aquarium (horizontal pieces) base while 1/2" X 2" Oak rim was used to finish the vertical corners.

Cut the trim pieces and nail them in place with finishing nails or an appropriate glue.

Fill the nail holes with oak wood putty and finish sand.

You can now finish (stain) the oak surfaces of the cabinet.

HINT: Before applying the stain to the cabinet, test the stain to be used on a scrap of the plywood to make sure the result is what you have in mind.
