Here's How This Picture Was Taken
We took a live amphipod out of a saltwater aquarium and mounted it on a microscope slide.
Using our Nikon Coolpix 4300 digital camera on the automatic setting, Stan put the camera lens up to the eyepiece of the microscope as close as possible without coming into contact, and when the image in the viewing window appeared to look good, he snapped the picture.
Pretty amazing shot, huh!
