Chaetodon tinkeri (Schultz, 1951).

Other Common Names:

Tinker's Butterfly, Tinkeri Butterfly .

Identification:

The anterior half is white with black dots on each scale and the posterior part of the body is black. Shades of yellow and orange mark the face, dorsal fin, and tail.

Distribtution:

Exclusively in Hawaii.

Maximum Size:

To 4".

Minimum Tank Size Suggested:

50 gallon.

Characteristics & Compatibility:

The Tinker's Butterfly is a shy fish, preferring a quiet tank. In the wild, this fish eats corals and small invertebrates.

Diet & Feeding:

Feed finely chopped sea foods with sea weeds (algae) available.

Reef Tank Suitability:

Should be kept in a fish only tank due to its appetite for coral polyps and invertebrates.
