Other Common Names:

Bullet Goby, Brownbarred Goby.

Identification:

This Goby has a greenish-yellow head with blue and orange dots and dashes. The remainder of the body is yellow with brown bands.

Distribution:

Indo-Pacific.

Maximum Size:

To 6".

Reef Tank Safe:

Yes.

Diet & Feeding:

Feeds on small crustaceans in the substrate as well as filamentous algae. Offer a varied diet of brine shrimp (live or frozen), mysis shrimp, foods for herbivores, as well as nori.

Characteristics & Compatibility:

The Banded Sleeper Goby uses shallow burrows in the substrate as refuge, keeping the substrate well oxygenated. It is rarely aggressive towards other fish, however it is territorial, and will fight with others of the same species unless they are a mated pair. Like most all Godies, this fish is known to jump out of uncovered aquariums.
