Crossosalarias macrospilus.

Other Common Names:

Big Spot Blenny, Triplespot Blenny.

Identification:

The body is a mottled green and brown with white spots. The belly is a light tan to cream color and the dorsal fin has accents of yellow and red.

Distribution:

Indo-Pacific.

Maximum Size:

To 4".

Reef Tank Safe:

Yes.

Diet & Feeding:

This fish is a herbivore and should have its diet supplemented with vegetable matter, Spirulina, and herbivore preparations.

Characteristics & Compatibility:

This Blenny does best in a tank with large amounts of natural algae to graze on and it is best to house singly unless the two are a mated pair. The One Spot Blenny spends most of its time flitting from rock to rock as it looks for algae to feed upon.
