Dateline 12/26/2007: When fully open, this anemone measures about 8 inches in diameter. Although we have had a pair of Black Percula Clownfish in our 92 gallon corner bowfront reef tank with this and two Condylactis species sea anemones since 12/12/2007, the Clowns have not gone near any of them. Carpets are not a natural host for Percula Clownfishes, and we hope that they will eventually adapt to hosting any one of these anemones, but only time will tell.
Sea Anemones are not the easiest things to keep alive and in good health in an aquarium. Here are the summary and analysis of the Host Sea Anemone Survivability Survey. The information here could help you to easily double the life span of a sea anemone in your aquarium.
