Welcome to NEW Salt Talk Chat!
About Saltwater Aquariums Community
Chat Room
- About the NEW Salt Talk Chat Room
- This chat room is accessible through the About Saltwater Aquariums Forums.
- The chat room can only be opened for activity by a moderator. During any given chat, Debbie, Stan, and/or Phyllis will be in the room as moderators, and can easily be identified by the "gavel" next to their logon names.
- We have chosen Thursday's and Saturday's from 8:00 to 10:00pm (ET) for our weekly scheduled chats. However, if the room is busy we very often stay longer, so feel free to check and see if we may still be present after 10:00pm (ET). We also drop into chat during other days of the week if time permits, so once again feel free to see if the room is open at other times as well.
- How To Logon to Chat
- If you are already a member of the Forums, you should receive an automatic link to click on to login. If not, just type in your login information.
- If you are not a member yet, choose the "guest" option, or take 30 seconds to register for FREE and become a member.
- It is only when the live Salt Talk Chat link is displayed that the room is open and active for joining chat, otherwise you will see a message that reads "No Rooms have been set up for this forum", which only means the room is closed at the time.
- You can get to the chat room two ways:
- Login through the Chats Page Now
- Login to the Forums Start Page, then once on this page scroll down and look in the bottom left corner for the "Chat Center" and click on the live "Salt Talk Chat" link when present.
- Before joining chat we ask that you read the following points of proper Chat Netiquette, and thank you for your courtesy!
- Do not type in all caps. This is considered shouting. It’s highly annoying and hard to read.
- Don’t flame other chatters. It’s okay to disagree, but not okay to attack, harass, or defame others. Respond to the message, not the messenger.
- Do not harass, threaten, embarrass or otherwise cause distress to others.
- Do not impersonate other members. This is rude, inconsiderate, and highly offensive.
- Please use the "same" logon name at all times. This allows other regular chatters to immediately recognize you if you are a frequent visitor.
