About Don Carner - A PersonalBio

dcarner@buckeye-express.com
Don Carner was setting up andmaintaining saltwater aquariums since 1987. Because of his expertise inthe field of keeping reef aquariums and corals, we, Stanand Debbie Hauter invited Don to join our staff as a Host-Guide atAbout Saltwater Aquariums in 1999. For several years he contributed lotsof valuable information to this site for visitors new and experienced tolearn about advanced reef as well as basic aquarium keeping. We extendvery special Mahalos (Thanks) to Don for all he has shared withus over the years.

Professional Experience: Donhas worked part-time at various LFSs over the years, and owned and operatedReef Relief Aquarium Systems for several years. Designing and buildingmany components relating to reef keeping, including skimmers, reactorsand filtration systems, has been one of his true joys.

From Don Carner: "I have experiencedjust about all the troubles, problems or disasters that befall all whoenter this wonderful hobby. I have experimented and learned via trial, error, and observation about coral-fish-invert interactions and husbandry.I've been assisting fellow hobbyists with reef related concerns for manyyears, but am not a marine biologist. I simply enjoy helping others overcomethe challenges of the hobby by not making the same costly mistakes thatbefall others. I am not an elitist, I make mistakes. I learned from mymistakes, and through the information I have contributed here at AboutSaltwater Aquariums I hope I have helped to steer others around similartroubles."
