Hawaiian Feather Duster and Aiptasia Anemones Photos
Before and After Injecting Attached Aiptasia Anemones with Lemon Juice

How to Eliminate Aiptasia w/Lemon Juice | Aiptasia Profiles Index

Here is one of our Hawaiian Feather Dusters shown with an Aiptasia Anemone of about 1-1/2 inches in height attached to the worms tube, and one that is about 1 inch in height near the base attached to the live rock. As you can see, there is a whole crop of these buggers growing on the left side of the live rock as well, but we did not treat these at this time. This image was taken during a water change with the powerhead and Magnum 350 canister filter turned off, and BEFORE the anemones were injected using our lemon juice injection method.

Here is the same Feather Duster shown 2 days after injecting the circled Aiptasia Anemones with lemon juice. As you can see, the only visible trace left that the anemones were even there is the small gray speck on the duster's tube. This image was taken with the powerhead and Magnum 350 canister filter running. Dateline 07/14/03. ~ Debbie & Stan Hauter
