From 40 to 2,000 gallons in size, and in a wide range of approaches from simplified to high-tech systems, "Ultimate Marine Aquariums - Saltwater Dream Systems and How They Are Created" profiles 50 personal, business and public display reef and fish-only marine aquariums around the United States.
Each aquarium spotlighted by Micheal includes full color photographs, an introduction to the system and its creator, and information about the tank, circulation, controllers, filtration, lighting, system parameters and chemistry, livestock and feeding, all of which is simply outlined in a profile style format. Taking things one step further, Michael includes personal notes from the aquarium owner with comments on problems overcome with their system, things he or she would like to change, likes best, and finds special about it, as well as incorporates favorite comments by others, and overall positives. Most all photographs include common and often scientific name information on the species pictured in them.
For anyone that has questions about what equipment to get, filtration to use, lights to have, and so on when starting, changing or adding to a saltwater system, this book is a great resource for ideas. With as many different types and individual styles of saltwater system set ups as there are people that keep them, "Ultimate Marine Aquariums" clearly shows that there is no real right or wrong way to do it!
